Victim Services
As a high priority, the Illinois Prisoner Review Board has formed a specialized unit devoted to assisting victims of crimes through the Victims Notification (VN) Unit. Victims are placed in the Victim Notification Program upon request. Any victim or person who would like to be notified must submit a request for notification. The registration form can be filled out electronically by clicking the following link, filling out the form and clicking the Submit button to email the completed form to the Victim Notification Unit .
It is very important for victims who change addresses but still wish to receive notification, to contact the Illinois Prisoner Review Board, Victim Services Unit so that notification data will remain accurate.
The VN Unit answers questions and provides sentencing and release information to victims and witnesses on a daily basis.
Most victims who want to know how they can be made aware of and involved in the parole review process. Victims are invited to submit their opinions to the Illinois Prisoner Review Board concerning an upcoming parole review. Victims may at any time express their opinions about a case in writing. They may also request that certain conditions and restrictions be imposed on the offender upon release into supervision.
The Board is dedicated in its efforts to provide assistance and information to victims. Victims are placed in the Victim Notification Program upon request.
